Jordie Fraser

Jordie giving a “thumbs-up” after he successfully extracted DNA from a kiwi.
Jordie completed his undergraduate education in 2007, majoring in both Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Economics. Following an eight-month position with the Ministry of Forests as a forest firefighter, he returned to UNBC joining Dezene Huber’s lab. Focused primarily on cold tolerance of the mountain pine beetle, Jordie believes strongly in exposing youth to opportunities in the field of northern science. When not at the lab bench, Jordie enjoys trail running and triathlon training.
