Junk DNA is the sections of DNA that
do not code for amnio acids. It is the noncoding region, or intronic
region. These DNA segments were thought to be junk because their function
was unknown however we are now beginning to understand that most of
our ‘junk’ DNA is actually an important and crucial part of our
genetic make-up. |
