My brother went bald when he turned 20. Can you tell if that will happen to me using genetic testing?

Ah, yes, baldness: every young man’s worst nightmare. The thought of taking a shower one day and seeing strand after strand of your beautiful hair being washed down the drain is enough to make most people lock themselves in the bathroom and never come out.

Maybe you've heard that baldness comes from your mother’s side? Well, the fact is, nobody really knows if that’s true or not (sounds to me like a theory made up by bitter bald men with overbearing mothers). Scientists still don’t know the gene that causes predisposition to early baldness. If the genes that predispose to baldness were known, scientists might be able to create therapies based on the information given by the altered genes, and presto! A so-called bald “cure”! But in the meantime, there’s always baseball caps. Lots and lots of baseball caps. Baseball caps everywhere you look…

Wow. Guess this bald thing is pretty common, judging by all the baseball caps…!

But all joking aside, you shouldn’t worry too much about it. Remember: bald is beautiful too!
