Brian Hansen is an educator, entertainer, scholar and administrator who has written and produced a wide variety of public education, popular science and business information projects.

While Director of Education at Science World British Columbia, one of Canada's premiere science centres, Mr. Hansen led the development of a national program for elementary teacher training in science as well as a number of other television, exhibition and multimedia enterprises, including a provincewide interactive videoconference with Mikhail Gorbachev. In 2000, Mr. Hansen entered the high-production world of business television, where he wrote, edited and managed for B2BTV, a weekly half-hour business program on Calgary's Channel 7. Now a freelance technical writer and educational consultant, Mr. Hansen's current major project is writing and editing Genome British Columbia's education website.

Combining his extensive background in liberal arts as well as popular science, Mr. Hansen’s recent academic work examines the philosophy of Plotinus (205-270 C.E.) and its potential application to new models in contemporary ecology. In his intellectual down time, he is an amateur furniture builder, cook, wood carver, piano-rebuilder and music collector. He also has a patio garden that he watches his wife maintain.
